Runs with a difference | Events | Forums

Here at SRC we are always looking for runs with a difference (RWAD), whether that be a distance, terrain, or location that is a little out of the ordinary.

The idea is that once every quarter we will try to put together an event that encapsulates said RWAD and some form of social gathering/time away etc.

So far we have looked at doing the Sticky Toffee Run up in the Lake District in March – an 18km trail run with a Cartmel sticky toffee pudding as the prize for crossing the line.

I've just come across the following: http://www.tr24.co.uk/index.html a 24 hour trail race that can be done as a team. The deal is that members of the team run 10 km laps before handing over to another member of the team….for 24 hours! The team that has run the most laps at the end of the 24 hours wins! :) The 'Thunder Run' takes place 27-29/07/2012 and involves a bit of camping out in Derbyshire.

Sounds….erm…like the kind of event that will be hard at the time but loads of fun looking back!
